Good facilitation can be learned, but it’s also an art, much like improvisational theater! Although you may walk in with a plan, you can never quite know what to expect! It helps to be genuinely dialed in to your participants and responsive to their physical, emotional, and intellectual needs, and able to adapt at a moment’s notice.  I came across this article, 8 Improv Techniques to Improve Your Facilitation Skills. Wonderful article, thank you!  All excellent points, but gratitude sticks with me, even though we may only be crossing each other’s paths for a short while, we should be so very grateful for the opportunity.
