I am excited to introduce eight new Texas Person Centered Thinking Trainers and one new Plan Facilitation Trainer. For over a year The Institute on Person Centered Practices at the Center on Disability Studies at the University of Texas has collaborated with four Regional Centers in Southwest Texas to embed trainers representing a wide range of positions. The Regional Centers cover a huge geographic area providing services and supports for thousands of people with Intellectual Disabilities, Mental Illness and their families. The purpose of this initiative is to impact first and second level changes to ensure people who receive services have every opportunity to live their lives as they define them. This is an exciting time in Texas and I am grateful to be along for the ride.
