Biography

Mr. Garrison-Tate has supported people with disabilities and their families for 35 years.  He has held positions as a Special Education Teacher, a Community Services Program Director, Community Advocacy Organizer, Policy Manager, and Executive Director for an Early Childhood Intervention program. He is one of the Founders of Community Now!, a statewide non-profit organization that advocates for community inclusion. Mr. Garrison-Tate is also a Founding Partner of the Institute on Person Centered Practices and a Certified Mentor Trainer with The Learning Community on Person Centered Practices. He is a frequent invited presenter at conferences, and provides training on person centered practices for organizations throughout Texas. He currently works at the Center for Disability Studies at the University of Texas at Austin as a Program Manager.
