Melissa Hamilton has been in the field of developmental disabilities for over 30 years. She received her education at North Carolina Central University and continue her studies in psychology and sociology at the University of Maryland University College. She has worked in various jobs in the field of Intellectual Disabilities for the past 30 years. She has been an Assistant Director of Special Olympics. Spent 10 years in a dedicated school in Prince George’s County for a wide range of disabilities between the ages of 5 and 15. She has also been the Director of Independent Living at the Centers for Independent Living in the Maryland area. Currently she is employed as a Customized Employment Consultant for People with Developmental Disabilities in Silver Spring with SEEC (Seeking Equality, Empowerment and Community). The company is located Silver Spring, Maryland. Melissa is passionate about sharing the person centered plan with individuals in hospice to ensure their transition is designed by them and their family. She has found all of the tools in the training to be beneficial when putting together employment plans for the job seekers at her agency. She resides in Upper Marlboro, Maryland and enjoys traveling, spending time with her friends and family and developing her business in helping others reach their dreams.
