Hi there, from remarkably cooler-wetter-than-usual-for-July East Texas! Disappointed we have to go virtual again this year, but maybe not so much given PDX’s extreme heated-dry-un-airconditioned weather! I’m one of those “old-timers” – attending PDX Gatherings since 2005, a Mentor Trainer almost as long. Most importantly (IMO) the parent of a 32-year old young man who is self-determined out the wazoo…a creative, funny, friendly guy who’s taught me (and many others) more about person-centeredness than the professional world ever could. Look forward to meeting you I haven’t yet!

Hello all! I’m Aimee Ortiz-Day from Texas. I’m a PCT Trainer and Mentor Trainer candidate. This will be my third Portland Gathering. I’m looking forward to learning from everyone and to hear success stories. Everyone has been working diligently to improve the online curriculum and I can’t wait to see what we’ve learned one year later.

Hello from Norman, Oklahoma. Can’t wait to hang out with all you cool people during the #PDXGathering. The Gathering is one of my favorite things – because I love learning from others who just gets it.

Life has thrown me a curve ball, fast ball… all the pitches… as my role has changed with the DD Council in OK – Now trying to fake being an executive director. 😳 So much to learn…but looking forward to spread Person Centered Practices in this role. ☺
