Biography
Leigh Ann has worked with older adults, people with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities (I/DD), people with physical disabilities and people with behavioral health needs for more than 30 years. She has worked at all levels of organizations including direct care, case management, senior and executive leadership. She was the founding Executive Director (ED) of a Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) provider organization serving people with dual diagnosis and labels of challenging behavior. She has over 30 years’ experience leading person centered planning processes with people who live with complex medical needs. She also has significant experience in convening and facilitation of tasks forces, advisory councils, and stakeholder engagement. Ms. Kingsbury is a charter member of The Learning Community for Person Centered Practices and a Board Member Emeritus. She has published widely on the topic of person centered practices in the context of aging and end of life and has consulted across the country, in Canada and the UK on using person centered practices to facilitate advance care planning. She is the author of People Planning Ahead: A Guide to Communicating Healthcare and End of Life Wishes; and the co-developer and facilitator of the virtual course Using Person Centered Approaches to Support Advance Care Planning.
