Biography
I have been working with people with disabilities for over 30 years! I started while I was in college and decided that this was definitely what I would do as my chosen career! I joined a new provider in Pennsylvania and started working with people with ID who moved out of a state institution into a small group home. When I moved to Virginia, I joined the residential team at the Northern VA Training Center. I worked there for 25+ years and learned a lot about how to best support someone with disabilities. The Training Center is where I was able to help people understand the meaning of being person-centered. I was fortunate to be chosen to be a part of the PCT Implementation group to really focus on bringing this philosophy to all of Virginia. I currently work with Loudoun County’s Department of MHSADS as the Residential Operations Coordinator. I am a PCT Trainer and will soon be a trainer for Coaches!
I am a mom of 2 grown kids. I enjoy reading, hiking, and getting together with friends to watch movies, plays, musicals and just to have a great time enjoying life! I love animals and being outside in my yard or sitting by my neighbor’s pool. I am often driving on the highway to visit my family in Norfolk, VA, beach area in Delaware or heading out to Tennessee!
