Lori Jakubowski

Lori Jakubowski joined The Learning Community for Person Centered Practices as a PCT Trainer in November 2016.

Lori has worked for LIFESPAN, Inc. in Greensboro, NC since March 2009. LIFESPAN is a statewide, not for profit organization that offers education, employment, and enrichment programs to both children and adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Lori currently oversees the Learning & Development department as the Learning & Development Director but also has experience in Supported Employment, NC Innovations, Day Activity, and Compliance.

Lori began her career as an Employment Specialist for the Arc of High Point in January 2003. As an Employment Specialist, Lori assisted individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in finding competitive wage employment within their communities. In 2004, Lori was promoted to Community Supports Coordinator giving her the opportunity to coordinate both the Independent Living and Supported Employment programs as well as gain supervisory experience.

In 2006, Lori accepted a position with Goodwill Industries of Northwest NC in Winston-Salem as their Evaluation and Skills Assessment Manager. At Goodwill, Lori assisted individuals with various disabilities and/or disadvantages including: mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance abuse, prison re-entry, work first, and worker’s compensation by evaluating them in order to recommend services and skills training programs that would help them meet their employment goals. In addition to vocational evaluation, Lori supervised the Skills Training department which offered a variety of classes ranging from Cake Decorating and CNA to Masonry and CDL certification.

Lori has a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
