Mickie Muroff has 53 years of experience in leadership, consultation, and training in the field of IDD in both the public and private sectors, and in multiple states, including Georgia. Within the last three decades, she has dedicated her efforts to the training in, and promotion of, person-centered practices in Georgia. She has developed dozens of training packages and presented at numerous conferences, provider agencies, and DBHDD staff at the regional and service level. These packages include the “how to” involved in providing person-centered supports and in documenting those service efforts.
As a nationally certified Person Thinking Mentor Trainer, she has presented the Person Centered Thinking classes all over the state and mentored others to become trainers themselves. As a founding member and past Chairperson of the Georgia Learning Community, she has been a key planner and organizer for 12 annual Georgia Gatherings for Person-Centered Practices.
Her hobbies include Georgia Football, reading, birding, gardening, politics, bridge and Scrabble. She lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with the world’s most lovable curmudgeon, her husband Walter.
