Biography
Shab is a Registered Family Counsellor and a Masters’ Practitioner in Clinical Counselling. Shab also takes on other roles at UNITI – Semiahmoo House Society, a (PCT) Person Centered Trainer and a team member in Restorative Practices. Shab believes in having good conversations with people she works with. Each and every person is unique and they all have their own stories to share, to be heard, to connect, and to build a meaningful relationship.
UNITI’s – Guidance Counselling Services exists to provide service to the Semiahmoo House Society community in a safe and confidential setting. This Safe Space creates an environment and an opportunity where people can openly share their concerns with a Counsellor. Every person receiving this service is respected, valued, and included without judgment. These sessions empower people to build their self-confidence, self-worth, relationships, trust and a safe space to share.
In addition, Shab advocates as an Adult Educator in Schools and Community Events through her workshops in Assertive Communication, Effective Parenting, Mother & Daughter Groups, Women’s Support Groups and many more. She is an active volunteer in her community and often devotes her time in planning, facilitating and working on various community projects. She has passion for writing Inspirational Stories and her Articles are published biweekly in the Community Newspaper and in Semiahmoo Foundation blog.
