Trainer: People Planning Together (1 Day Instructor-Led)
Kevin Wright works at the DC Department on Disability Services in the Youth Transition Unit. His job focuses on helping youth plan for employment. Kevin is a skilled public speaker and has presented at many conferences such as DC Secondary Transition Institute, Direct Support Professionals Conference: Equipping DC’s Change Agents, 2017 AUCD Conference, 2017 TASH Conference, and 9th Annual Voices of Change Conference. He has presented on a variety of topics including community mapping, self-advocacy, setting career goals, using the Charting the LifeCourse trajectory for employment, People Planning Together training in person centered thinking, and his role as a member of the DC Learners and Earners (PIE) program. Kevin uses his personal experiences to motivate and empower professionals, self-advocates, and family members to support disability rights and person centered thinking. Kevin’s career goal is to become a public speaker/mentor young adults to help them develop tools for themselves to seek out their career/dream job. In his free time, Kevin enjoys drawing.
