Person Centered Thinking is a new and exciting way to move through the world. People who become intentional PCT practitioners often want to take their practice to the next level by pursuing PCT Trainer certification.

PCT Mentor Trainer Certification

After you’ve been a PCT Trainer for at least two years, you may again find yourself desiring to move your practice to the next level to become a PCT Mentor Trainer. Mentor Trainers are the lifeblood and standard bearers of TLCPCP. Trainers who are considering pursuing Mentor Trainer certification must be committed to demonstrating a high level of performance and engagement with TLCPCP. 

Becoming a PCT Mentor Trainer requires mentorship from two mentor trainers. Most mentor trainers have their own application process for selecting Mentor Trainer Candidates. 

Here’s an overview of PCT Mentor Trainer certification requirements. You can use the link below for a detailed guide:

  • Demonstrate a high level of performance as a PCT trainer and participant in TLCPCP. 
  • Develop a PCT Mentor Candidate Learning Plan.
  • Conduct trainer candidate orientations.
  • Demonstrate good oversight of trainers’ skill development with all of the PCT skills
  • Assist trainer candidates as needed in preparing for two demonstration trainings.
  • Observe at least two complete demonstration trainings, four to six weeks apart, providing strong coaching through the process.
  • Review two Person Centered Descriptions and two One Page Descriptions developed by the trainer candidates. 
  • Review trainer candidates’ PCDs and OPDs.
  • Submit your own OPD as a Mentor Trainer Candidate
  • Submit your own OPD as a Mentor Trainer.
  • Commit to maintaining your PCT Mentor certification and contributing to TLCPCP.
