Biography

As a first-generation Mexican-American daughter, Adela witnessed how barriers can discourage those in the disability community from seeking medical access. Ethnically driven financial disparity and a lack of legal documentation play a huge role in our access to proper support. Resulting in those living with disabilities staying in poverty and experiencing emotional stress and social isolation.

Passionate about social causes and breaking down barriers for the disability community, she acts as the bridge between strategy and execution as a Program Director. Adela pilots all non-residential programs at the Campbell Center, including Community Integration, Supportive Employment, Client and Family Training, and Tailored Day Services. Alongside the organization’s team, she works collaboratively to ensure quality control guidelines are met and that Person-centred values are the guiding principles for delivering services.

Motivated to contribute positively to the disability community, she earned a degree in Rehabilitation Services and a Veteran Service Certificate from California State University, Los Angeles, in addition to her Person Center Thinking Certificate and Mental Health Aid.
