Biography

Allison is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a certified Person-Centered Thinking trainer. She is currently completing course work at the Northwest Creative and Expressive Arts Institute to gain additional credentialing as a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT). Allison has worked within several Home and Community Based (HCBS) agencies where she has gained incredible experience working with diverse people and diverse families. Along with her therapy practice she has provided leadership and supervision for teams, work groups, committees, departments, and agency employees for the past 20 years. She has lead policy and culture change from a medical model of providing services to a humanistic person-centered approach.

Allison has extensive experience training and presenting to caregiving teams, case managers, social workers, home and community-based service agencies, and day program providers in Person-Centered Thinking and practices, providing choice, mental wellness, trauma, and disability rights. She has run seminars for self-advocates and groups on self-esteem and sexuality. She has provided team mediation, positive support services, and Person-Centered Planning.

Allison currently works at Marigold Therapy where she specializes in using creative approaches to support people with a learning, intellectual, or developmental disability to work through grief, loss, exclusion, and from past abuse or neglect as well as everyday shitty life events.
