Biography

Kristen Calloway is a BlueCare TN Member Advocate, who works with individuals in the Employment and Community First CHOICES program. This program was created to assist people with an Intellectual and/or developmental disability diagnosis to be more independent, become more involved in their communities, and learn about and gain competitive and integrated employment.
Kristen believes that supporting people to have positive control over their lives is at the core of the work she does. She is passionate about learning, teaching and training these skills to people she supports and about being in a profession that promotes all things person centered.
Before her current role as a Member Advocate, Kristen has worked for 25 years supporting children and adults. In her various roles she has worked in early intervention, with first-time at-risk mothers, with foster children and families, as well as adults with a diagnosis of I/DD. She has collaborated with state organizations to learn, teach and implement person centered practices, before becoming a trainer.
Kristen holds a Bachelor of Science in Education with an emphasis on Human Services and has a minor in Psychology from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
Kristen is excited to be a part of the person-centered learning community as a trainer. She looks forward to continuing to learn from the people she serves and hopes to continue being a change agent within our system of supports.
