Biography

Mr. Salvador Gonzalez is San Gabriel/Pomona Regional Center (SG/PRC) Director of Community Outreach and Compliance.  He is responsible for oversight of community outreach programs and teams, supporting area-wide awareness of and involvement in SG/PRC’s services and supports across our service area.

Mr. Gonzalez began his current leadership role in 2021, after more than 20 years in roles here including 15 years as leading client services on SG/PRC’s Family Service team.

He complements his extensive regional center experience with an M.A. in organizational leadership, and a B.A., Physical Education / Adaptive Education.

Mr. Gonzalez’ oversight includes South & North Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion programs, Cultural Specialists, Educational Specialist, Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Fair hearings Specialist.  He is responsible for ensuring quality and efficacy of SG/PRC’s disparity programs, performance contract, and National Core Indicator response and reporting. Additionally, he is charged with assisting executive management of and updating our regional center’s emergency management and response plans.

A grassroots community leader, he demonstrated passion for the needs of those with developmental challenges when he was a teen – advocating in his high school against policies that separated out students with disabilities. He mentors youth sports, coaches Special Olympics, and supports teen motor skills programs in the Chico area.  He has also grown efforts to spur educational success in higher education, including teens who have gone on to Division One universities.
